Plant Director

Role Overview

Are you a visionary and passionate industrial leader ready to drive the future of sustainable manufacturing? As the Plant Director of the Čížkovice Cement Plant, you will take full strategic and operational ownership, leading our decarbonization, sustainability, and digitalization transformation while empowering a safety-first, high-performance team.

 

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Drive a Zero-Harm Safety Culture: Champion an uncompromising safety mindset across all site operations, ensuring strict compliance with Holcim standards to maintain a sustainable "Zero LTI" environment for all personnel.
  • Lead Strategy & Industrial Operations: Shape long-term operational strategy to maximize plant output, optimize operational costs, maintain exceptional product quality, and achieve peak equipment reliability.
  • Manage Financials & CAPEX Projects: Direct operational budgeting, forecasting, and full P&L accountability while executing major CAPEX modernization projects on time and within budget.
  • Empower & Develop Talent: Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary plant team utilizing modern HR tools and living NextGen behaviors (growth mindset, resilient drive, performance with integrity).
  • Drive Decarbonization & Compliance: Lead sustainable development initiatives—including CO₂ emission reduction and alternative raw material integration with Geocycle—ensuring full compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Represent the Plant Externally: Serve as the "face of the plant," building and nurturing trust-based relationships with local communities, regulatory authorities, municipalities, and key partners.

 

Your Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven Industrial Leadership: 8–10 years of successful leadership experience as a Plant, Operations, or Production Manager within heavy industry (cement, lime, steel, chemicals, or energy-intensive process manufacturing).
  • Educational Background: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Production Management, or a related technical field.
  • Financial & CAPEX Acumen: Direct experience with full P&L accountability, budget preparation, cost control, and executing complex industrial investments.
  • Leadership & Change Management: Proven track record in fostering a zero-harm safety culture, guiding organizations through change, and motivating teams toward high performance.
  • Personal Traits: Strategic thinker with an analytical mindset, high stress resilience, resilient drive, and outstanding stakeholder management skills.
  • Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in English and intermediate-level knowledge of Czech or Slovak would be great advantage.

Production Manager

Role Overview

Are you a strategic leader driven by operational excellence, safety, and sustainable innovation? Holcim Česko is looking for a proactive Production Manager to lead production operations at our Čížkovice plant, optimize multi-line manufacturing processes, and drive our decarbonization and CO2 reduction targets.

 

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Lead Safety & Culture: Foster a "Zero Harm" safety-first culture by enforcing strict OHS, Fire Safety, and environmental standards across all production activities.
  • Drive Decarbonization & Efficiency: Plan and optimize production outputs to meet budget goals while maximizing AFR (Alternative Fuel Rate) and ARM (Alternative Raw Materials) to hit group decarbonization targets.
  • Manage & Empower Teams: Lead, mentor, and develop shift managers and production staff through succession planning, technical certifications, and continuous training.
  • Optimize Operations & Digitalization: Monitor equipment performance, collaborate with Maintenance and Quality teams on operational enhancements, and advance production digitalization.
  • Financial & CAPEX Oversight: Prepare annual operational budgets (OPEX), manage cost utilization, identify production bottlenecks, and define technical specifications for CAPEX projects.
  • Cross-Functional & Contractor Coordination: Oversee third-party services and align routine maintenance, refractory replacements, and major overhauls with market demand.
  • Ensure Compliance & Standards: Enforce strict adherence to internal governance, local environmental permits (IPPC), and ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).

 

Your Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Education: Master’s degree (Ing.) in Technical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience, preferably in heavy industry, cement, building materials, or mining operations 
  • Language Skills: Fluent Czech/Slovak alongside advanced English (B2/C1) for corporate communication.
  • Technical Expertise: Solid grounding in Lean Manufacturing/Kaizen/5S, OHS & environmental legislation, and OPEX/CAPEX budget planning.
  • Leadership & Soft Skills: Proven leadership skills under pressure, analytical mindset, and strong communication and negotiation capabilities.
